[JOLSE] Olivarrier Fluid Oil 30ml Review

4 ago 2017

Very good day!.

For today, I have the review of this product that I had the opportunity to use thanks to the initiative of Jolse where they look for "Reviewers" of specific products.

This one, in particular, is from the Olivarrier brand, and it's a Squalane fluid oil. It is 100% pure squalane, it does not bring another component.

Let's see how it went, and what could I learn from it, my first experience with a facial face & body oil.

0 chemical ingredients, 100 squalane.
An oil-less oil that overcame the weakness of oil with faster absorption than water.

The freshness and quick absorption provides enough moisture for any time of the year,
keeping the skin smooth by making the dead skin cells elastic without blocking the pores.
The ingredient similar to the skin will improve the dryness and the roughness of the skin safely.
The colorless, odorless, and harmless plant squalane is the only ingredient contained in the product. The single ingredient oil will soothe the tightness of the skin, dry eyes and lips, rough hands and nails, damaged hair, sensitive and weak skin of expecting mothers and babies.

There is about 3~5% squalane on an average healthy skin, forming a natural moisture barrier called the natural cream.
The squalane protects the skin from drying and UV rays, strengthening the skin barrier.
However, the amount of squalane decreases dramatically in the 20's, becoming a main source of freckles, troubles, and drying.
The reason squalane is transparent like purified water is because the particles of squalane are very fine and stable. Such freshness will moisturize the skin healthily all year.

How is olive squalane different from other oil?
# The low molecular structure with small particles moisturize the skin quickly and freshly without blocking the pores.
# Smooths the skin by preventing the dead skin cells from piling up.
# The sturdy moisture barrier adjusts excessive sebum.
#Protects the skin from UV rays and external hazards by forming a healthy skin membrane
# Freshness texture can moisturize the skin all year.
Protects the sensitive skin stimulated by UV rays, city pollution, fine dust, temperature difference, junk food, hormone changes, and stress.
Squalane revitalizes the protection function of the skin by strengthening the skin barrier.

How To Use

Take 1 ~ 2 drops on the hands, rub them, and wrap the face with the hands to absorb smoothly.

The packaging is very simple and minimalist. The good thing is that in addition to coming completely sealed, it contains all the information we need about the product, details, ingredients, mode of use, date of expiration and symbol of expiration after opening.

The bottle is made of glass, and it has a built-in dropper.

It's my first time using an oil like this (I don't count on oils the Hanyul's Multibalm, since that has other ingredients too) and that's why I've been using it carefully.

The first thing, the use of squalane in cosmetics for a long time has caught my attention, both because several brands have promoted it enough, and because it's being added to many cosmetics for its moisturizing and restorative function of the skin barrier, but also, because they are attributed antioxidant properties (protection against UV damage mainly). The moisturizing property, it complies with no problem at all. I'm troubled and conflicted because the antioxidant promise is not such, and it's not true in this case. When I looked in CosDNA, I saw that there is squalene, squalane, phytosqualane ... then I was left with more doubts ... what differences are?

Squalene used in cosmetics was obtained mainly from the liver of sharks but also now is found in olive oil. It looks yellowish, and is liquid. But, it is also present in the human body, specifically in sebum, hair fat, and vernix caseosa - the fat layer that we have at birth, which is important not to remove - for example. It has antioxidant properties, antitumorals, chemoprotector and also protects against toxic aggressions. The problem is that it is unstable, it oxidizes quickly and is tagged with low safety.

Squalane, which is found in olive oil too, is also present in the human body, sebum, and other surface lipids, but is stable and low in toxicity. It is emollient and moisturizing, that's why its importance in cosmetics. It's transparent.

In all places I had read that as squalene had antioxidant functions, squalane was also, but nowhere did I find evidence of it, everything that showed antioxidant activity is related to squalene and not squalane. Then, reading one of my favorite places -Lab Muffin- Michelle explained that squalane is not an antioxidant. If it's a great moisturizer, but no more than that.

Why? According to her, "squalENE works as an antioxidant because it has double bonds. SqualANE can’t work in the same way" Since I have no scientific background or studies on it, I can only believe what she and the studies she cites, mention, without questioning or understanding why. I leave the study. If any of you have a background, if you could explain, I would be very grateful, so we can all differentiate.

So that's basically in terms of properties. In the end, I have taken it as a moisturizer and repairer, and I have forgotten its supposed antioxidant effect (not tested).

As for my experience, I use it during morning and night, and that has modified the final part of my routines. Before, I used to use many layers of hydrating and moisturizing products, to get my skin in a good state, where it was always elastic ... that meant that after the serums, applied cream and then a sleeping pack. Now, with this oil, I finish my phase of serums, apply two drops of the product, rub and gently spread across my face and neck, wrapping my face finally to give it heat.

And the skin looks pretty good. Even better than after using cream.

The oil is absorbed very fast, does not leave a heavy or greasy/oily feeling to the touch and the skin is soft, with a natural appearance.

But everything isn't perfect. Why did I have to modify my final routine? Because the oil alone is enough, and my skin doesn't seem to need anything else after its use. That, I learned only seeing the behavior of my skin during these weeks ... since I started using it, first following the advice of using 2 drops and then applying my cream at night or day cream ... and my skin felt slippery, like they could not get along.

A couple of nights I tried with more, 3 and 4 drops, since I thought 2 drops were too little.

But 2 drops and then nothing more than moisturizing is enough. Because my skin let me know, with small white pimples on the forehead, nose, chin and jaw. Sites that normally don't appear to me, and weren't hormonal type red pimples.

I tried leaving aside the cream and sleeping pack, and using only the oil as the final step, and I had no more pimples. That was, overhydration or over-moisturizing.

So yes, 2 drops are enough.

Apart from the face, they can be used on the lips, elbows, hands or feet. 2 drops are enough to moisturize well and help repair the skin, restoring softness and restoring that damaged skin barrier. I'm using it now in my elbows to see if there's any improvement since my skin is scaly in there, and it's better than any body lotion.

I recommend it? Only for sensitive and dry
skintypes, although in my combination dehydrated skin goes great. The price is expensive, it's $35 per 30 ml of product, but considering that only 2 drops are used, and you save other moisturizers; and is not only restricted to the use of the face, but is multipurpose, for the whole body, is light, absorbs quickly, leaves natural and non-oily finish, I think you can give it a chance especially if your skin is combination or extremely dry.

      besos! descansa ^_^

  2. Yo opino diferente a ti.
